Why should I use ezDatafeed instead of my own in-house program?
Unfortunately, the problems that most merchants face is the merchant's technology department is
just too busy with more important projects. Even if the technology team had the time to spare, it
could take several months to create and properly test any in-house system. As you pay your developers
to do this, your competition already has their feed up and running. How much are you losing in sales
and development costs when you could be up and going in just a few days?
Wouldn't the costs be cheaper with BeFree or Commission Junction?
This is a very good question. BeFree charges its merchants upwards 1% of gross sales to produce a
datafeed. If you do just $1 million in gross sales for BeFree, that means you would have to pay up to $10,000
just to produce your datafeed. Commission Junction has a setup fee of up to $1000 and if you do not meet your
sales goal that Commission Junction sets for you, there are additional fees. With ezDatafeed, once you pay the
setup fee, you only pay for actual usage. If your affiliate partners do not download your datafeed, you pay
nothing. There are no sales goals that you have to beat and you are not penalized if your affiliate partners
produce for you.
Why can't I just provide my affiliates with a Excel spreadsheet or a text dump from my database?
Simply put, it shows the affiliates that you are doing the absolute least that you can for them. By forcing them
to make all the links trackable, you are putting the burden on the affiliate to ensure they did everything correctly.
It is your job as a merchant to ensure the affiliate has everything they need. Also by doing this, you are likely to
lose sales due to improperly coded links and lose more affiliates that will go to your competition who provides this
information in an easy to use manner.
Can I control who has access to my datafeed?
Using our ezDatafeed system, the merchant can rest assured that only the users they specify can access
their datafeed. You are free to have as many logins as you wish. Updating your user list is as easy as
uploading a text file. If, for any reason, you want to suspend an affiliate's access to your datafeed, you
can simply remove them from the authorized users list. It's that simple.
What if I don't want to manage the user logins?
This is not a problem. If you do not want to manage your user logins, you can simply create one user account
and pass that information on to your affiliates. It's that easy.
How up to date can I keep my datafeed?
Once you have signed up to use the ezDatafeed program, you will receive a special user id and password that will
log you into your own administration area. Once you are logged in, you can update your datafeed file as often as
you like. Once a day, we will then access your datafeed file and make it available to your affiliates.
