My merchant told me they have their datafeed located here. How do I retrieve it?
You can retrieve the merchant's datafeed in several ways. You can type the datafeed url into your
web browser or you can use a program called WGet if you wish to download directly to your web server.
To access the merchant datafeed via the web browser, type this into your browser and hit enter.
http://www.ezdatafeed.com/download.php?u=user&p=password&m=merchant
When you hit the enter key, you will be prompted to open or save the datafeed file. Simply save the
datafeed file somewhere on your local system. All the datafeeds that are provided from ezDatafeed.com
are compressed into a zip file.
If you wish to use WGet to download the merchant datafeed, you can use this command from a linux prompt. (Below is one continuous line.)
wget --output-document=datafeed.zip http://www.ezdatafeed.com/download.php\?u=user=\&p=password\&m=merchant
This will download the merchant datafeed into the current directory in a compressed format.
What is all this user id, password and merchant stuff?
Each of these are required for you to be able to access the merchant datafeed. If any of these are incorrect
or missing, you will not be able to download the merchant datafeed.
Where can I get a user id, password and merchant information? Can you give them to me?
When your merchant told you about their datafeed, they should have given you a user id, password and merchant id.
Each of these are required for you to be able to download their datafeed. If you do not have that information,
please contact the merchant. ezDatafeed.com can not provide this information to affiliates. Please do not email
us asking for this information. We will simply refer you to the appropriate merchant.
Why do I sometimes see garbage on the screen when I try to download a datafeed?
This seems to happen when you type the wrong userid, password or merchant id in the url and you received a error
message. The easy way to fix this is to close your current browser window and try again.
Ok. I have downloaded the datafeed. What now? How do I use it? Can you tell me or show me how to build
my site?
We do not provide support on how to handle or create sites using datafeeds. There are several informational sources
on the internet that will be able to assist you with the programming aspects of this. If you feel you cannot learn a
programming language or cannot do this, please contact our sister sites -
Scripts 4 Your Site for ready made datafeed
import scripts or Recycled Talent for custom
made sites. Both sites should be able to create almost anything you are looking for.
How long will it take to download a datafeed?
Download times can vary anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes depending on your ISP's internet speed
and current internet traffic.
How large is X merchant's datafeed?
Each merchants datafeed size is different. It will depend on the number of items they have listed and how much
information they provide for each item. Datafeed file sizes can be anywhere from a few kilobytes to several
hundred megabytes. ezDatafeed.com compresses each feed to allow for the fastest download time possible. If you
would like the exact size of a merchants datafeed, please contact the merchant.
How often should I download a merchant's datafeed?
This is dependant on how often the merchant's datafeed is update from the merchant and how fresh you wish
your web content to be. If the merchant updates their datafeed on a daily basis, you might want to download their
feed daily. If they only update once a week or once every other week, you should update accordingly. Your merchant
will be able to give you this information.
Is my user information safe? What guarantee do I have that you will not sell our information?
Since ezDatafeed never has access to any of your personal information, it is 100% safe. The only affiliate
information stored on our servers is the user id and password that the merchant assigns each affiliate to
download their datafeed. We have no way to identify user ids or passwords to individual affiliates.
I have other questions that are not answered here. How can I get answers?
If you have additional questions that are not answered above, feel free to email us. We will be happy to answer any
non-merchant specific questions you may have.
